“When My Soul Was in The Lost-and-Found” / Rabbi Dr. Reb Mimi (Miriam Sara)Feigelson

So many parts of our identity, our faith, our sense of security and partnership, were put to the test this year. so many levels of trust questioned and even lost. As we head towards the months of Elul and Tishrei, months that call us Home, beckon us to reclaim ourselves, it is a time to name those lost parts of ourselves. To honestly stand up and reclaim what has been taken from us.
What are Aretha Franklin / Carole King thinking when they sing these words? Where are your tears coming from when you find yourself singing along, claiming this feeling? Other than God, who else out there would be able to identify the lost parts of your soul and protect them till you are ready to claim them? A spiritual reading of the mishnah, the headquarters of ‘retrieving lost objects,’ Bava Metzi’a chapter 2 will lead us in a journey of reclaiming ourselves. Along with our Chassidic masters: the Chernobyl Rebbe / the Me’or Ay’nayim, Rebbe Nachman, the Ishbitzer Rebbe, and the Piasetzna Rebbe. Each session will stand alone, and all three together will offer a sturdy post to lean on. More than ever we need each other.
