We plan to hold “all access” High Holiday services, both in person in the main Sanctuary, in the Orthodox Kehillah, at lay-led Chavurah Minyan services under the tent, and on Zoom.

As a health precaution, we require attendees to sign up in advance below. We will not limit attendance this year. See below for the current Covid protocols.

Covid Protocols (as of 9/21/22)

Covid continues to play an evolving role in our life and congregation. The current Beth El protocols were designed to track the Durham Community Transmission Rate, which is currently at Medium. This designation allows us to lessen the masking requirements.  However, since this is the first time that we are bringing a large group of people into the building, we want to be as inclusive as possible. In addition, we have received the input of many stakeholders, including those instrumental in leading our services, and have designed a masking policy for the High Holidays that we believe will make the services comfortable to as many as possible. Specifically, for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services:

  • Masks are required in the Main Sanctuary
  • Masks are encouraged in the Orthodox Kehillah, Chavurah Minyan (outside), lobby, and family/children’s services

 SERVICES: OPEN SEATING
OPEN SEATING: We are not limiting capacity this year. You can register yourself and members of your household for as many as you want.

CHAVURAH MINYAN: This lay-led, traditional-egalitarian service will feature lots of joyful and powerful singing, engaging divrei Torah, and a warm, low-key atmosphere, while following the liturgy in a relatively unabridged fashion. The service will be held in the tent and will not use any microphones or streaming. To learn more, contact Adam Levine: adamsimonlevine@gmail.com.
