Learning to Leyn: Torah Cantillation with Student Cantor Molly May

Now is the time to pick up a new skill to add to your own toolbox AND open the door to a new way of contributing to your synagogue community (or any synagogue community)! The Torah contains a multitude of mysteries, but chanting doesn't have to be mysterious at all.

Molly May--student cantor, Talmud Torah teacher, and music educator with a long history of helping people to practice--will guide you through the process of learning trope symbols and applying them to the chanting of Torah. You'll need to have a comfortable level of Hebrew decoding; no other experience is required. There will be an opportunity to chant Torah on Saturday, April 8 (Chol HaMoed Pesach).

Classes will be held at Beth El on most Mondays at 7PM in February and March with an online option as needed.
